モバードの37ミリジャンボモデル。薄型手巻きのケースは18金無垢イエローゴールドを採用し、ラグには多面的なカットを施すことで、1950年代特有の贅沢な造形美を実現しています。ダイヤルはカッパーとマットホワイトのツートン仕様で、アプライドの飛びアラビアインデックスや計器を思わせるミニッツサークルが特徴です。針には幅狭のペンシルハンドを採用し、秒針にはこの世代のモバード特有のシルバーにレッドポインター付きのデザインが用いられています。リューズも50年代のオリジナルデザインが残っており、魅力を引き立てています。

ケースはオリジナルのエッジがしっかりと残り、傷がほとんど見られない素晴らしいコンディションです。ラグ裏のホールマーク刻印も状態良く保たれています。ダイヤルはカッパー部分に点状の経年変化が20分方向に見られますが、ツートンホワイト部分にはごく薄いエイジングがある程度で、全体的に非常に良好な印象です。針やインデックスにはくすみがなく、当時の輝きを保っています。弊社にて分解掃除済みで安心してお使いいただけます。

ジャンボケースの18金無垢仕様という贅沢な設計は、当時の世相を考えると非常に高価で希少なものであったと推測されます。生産数が少なく、現存する個体も稀少です。モバードらしい独創的なデザインが随所に反映された一品で、マニアにとって特別な価値を持つモデルと言えるでしょう。

COMMENT

The Movado 37mm jumbo model features an ultra-thin manual-winding case crafted from 18k solid yellow gold. Its multifaceted lugs exemplify the luxurious aesthetic characteristic of the 1950s. The dial showcases a striking two-tone design of copper and matte white, accented by applied Arabic numerals and an instrument-inspired minute track. Slim pencil hands and a silver seconds hand with a distinctive red pointer, unique to this era of Movado, complete the design. The original 1950s crown remains intact, enhancing its vintage charm.  

The case retains sharp original edges and is in outstanding condition, showing minimal signs of wear. The hallmark engravings on the underside of the lugs are well-preserved. The copper portion of the dial exhibits slight aging in the 20-minute area, while the white section has minimal patina, giving it an overall excellent appearance. Both the hands and applied indexes are free from tarnish, maintaining their original luster. Fully serviced by our team, it is ready to be worn with confidence.  

This lavish design, featuring a jumbo solid gold case, was undoubtedly a rare and costly creation for its time. Given its limited production, surviving examples are extremely scarce. This model embodies Movado's unique design philosophy, making it a valuable piece for dedicated collectors.
